This project has it’s beginnings originally in BRP’s international design competition, where it received an honorable mention. After rounds of ideation and design evolution, I wanted to merge the best ideas into a new project. One where I explore a new generation design language for a modern minimalistic city car under the Can-Am brand.
The challenge was in simplifying and modernizing the existing Can-Am design language, while retaining the core identity of the brand.
The core theme was formed from simple architecture of two opposing square forms that create the silhouette. The main features of the existing designs are focused down into a play of interconnecting lines, which create the familiarity for the core brand. The wrap-around aluminum body intersects the more rugged body parts, forming the main design element.
Despite its small size, everyday items are carried with ease with the many storage options and hidden compartments found throughout the package.
